Working on it!

This site is going to be a resource that can be linked to by neurodivergent people from e.g. email signatures or profile pages. The link text should be simply "ND" or a small graphic (if possible — an image could be hosted here, TBA). The primary purpose is for ND folks to identify other ND folks, so that ND-friendly communication can occur.

For neurotypical people who clicked on the link: congratulations, you are more curious than most NTs. You are encouraged to check out any links you find here to learn about how NDs work and live in an NT world.

Neurodivergent-Friendly Communication?

We appreciate directness, we want clarity. We prefer written rather than verbal, as many of us have issues with distractability or working memory. We also often like to play with communication in ways that can annoy, confuse, or otherwise irritate neurotypical people. We'll do things like nested parenthetical statements, or extended footnotes, or sometimes we even use semicolons. Yes, we tone it down in professional situations, but that is a form of masking, a defensive strategy adopted by most ND people to some degree that is harmful to their overall well-being. If we don't have to mask, it would be nice for us to know. Unmasking is far less scary if we know our correspondent is also ND.

I'm ND Too! (Or, I'm pretty sure I am)

Groovy! So what you can do is, link this page from your social media profile, or put a link in your email signature, or link it from wherever you like. No charge, and this site will forever be just plain static HTML so there's no risk of linking your correspondents to some site that gets hacked or whatever.
